I'm Back and I Still Hate You

A new year is before us, taunting us with the false hope of a fresh start.  It’s the season that prompts me to get back to blogging, just so I can bitch about the shitty year we just got through and to bemoan another shitty year before us.
But I found out someone got there before me and did it better.
Here it is.  Your list of the most loathsome people of 2007.
    I hate them all.

Smoke & Mirrors & Bullshit

Jesus Christ, I hate these fuckers.  First they cavalierly ignore NOAA’s warnings of an “extremely dangerous hurricane", they stay on vacation while thousands are dying or left homeless, they smear local government rather than admit their own failing, they force the FEMA head to resign even though the Homeland Security head (who has more power) is left in place.
And who is left in charge of FEMA now?  A couple of bozos who worked public relations on Bush’s election campaign.  That explains why they’re still focusing on public relations—exploiting firemen to pose on camera with Bush rather than actually, you know, put out some damned fires—and still bungling emergency management.
And of course there’s this, from Frank Rich’s latest column:

When there’s money on the line, cronies always come first in this White House, no matter how great the human suffering.  After Katrina, the FEMA Web site directing charitable contributions prominently listed Operation Blessing, a Pat Robertson kitty that, according to I.R.S. documents obtained by ABC News, has given more than half of its yearly cash donations to Mr. Robertson’s Christian Broadcasting Network.  If FEMA is that cavalier about charitable donations, imagine what it’s doing with the $62 billion (so far) of taxpayers’ money sent its way for Katrina relief.  Actually, you don’t have to imagine: we already know some of it was immediately siphoned into no-bid contracts with a major Republican donor, the Fluor Corporation, as well as with a client of the consultant Joe Allbaugh, the Bush 2000 campaign manager who ran FEMA for this White House until Brownie, Mr. Allbaugh’s college roommate, was installed in his place.
That is today’s Republican party.  They don’t give a shit about you unless you make over ten million dollars.  Rampant corruption, rampant cronyism.  Lies, greed, theft, and more lies.  A disgusting disrespect for life unless it’s their own.
Just remember this, as Bush crosses the country in his great Jerry Springer wife-beater apology: while all the poor were starving and dying, Bush didn’t cut his five-week vacation short for four days.  Cheney stayed on vacation the whole time.  And Condoleezza Rice went on vacation after the flooding started.  They don’t give a shit about you.  No matter how overwhelmed local government might have been, the federal government was and remained on vacation.  They don’t give a shit about you.

Bush Wins. We Lose.

I haven’t updated this site in a while.  It was tough to find new ways to express my utter disgust with George W Bush.  Now this contempt has been replaced with an utter disgust for those that voted for him on Tuesday.  Let me ask you, “What the fuck were you thinking?
“Why the fuck would you want to prolong the great hemorrage of democracy of the last four years?  What had he done right that was worth repeating?  Or are you a complete and total lobotomized asshole?” Don’t bother answering.  I know it’s C.

George W Bush: Hypocrite in Chief

This is worth repeating.  Copied from BuzzFlash.com.
If you live in a small town, you are pretty dependent upon the people in your community. So you learn pretty quickly who keeps his word; who accomplishes what they say they will accomplish; and who pays off their debts.
And you learn to keep away from liars, slackers and bums.
That’s why it’s a mystery that a lot of rural voters are expected to vote for Bush, when it’s obvious they wouldn’t want this guy as a member of their community—he doesn’t keep his word; he doesn’t deliver on what he says are his goals; and he keeps running up a record debt.
Take Bush’s promise to extend a modest ban on Assault Weapons. In 2000, when he was trying to get the women’s vote and the law enforcement vote, Bush said he would support the ban on military-style weapons and the legislation aimed at protecting civilians and police officers.
But come September 13, 2004, when the legislation was set to expire, Bush didn’t lift a finger to get Tom DeLay, an NRA enforcer and lapdog, to bring up the bill in the House of Representatives. Let’s not forget that Osama bin Laden told Al Qaeda members to go to the United States to buy weapons, because it was so easy to get them here. Bush, when given the opportunity to do something right in his war on “terruh,” did the wrong thing … again.
A number of state groups working to reduce gun violence got nearly 2000 small town and big town police chiefs to sign a request not only to renew but to strengthen the Assault Weapons legislation to make it a true ban.
But Bush didn’t care. He needs the NRA this year more than he needs women and police officers and he’s willing to make life a lot more dangerous for all of us just to get their vote.
As Clinton said at the Democratic Convention, Bush is cutting back on the number of law enforcement officers, but putting more assault weapons on our streets.
So, the question to ask Bush’s rural voters: If your neighbor, your mayor or your president lies to you and proves to be a fraud and a hypocrite, why would you trust him again?
