Pop Rap is hip hop with all of the hooks and none of the danger. It's catchy and fun and often employs familiar samples and loops. This has been around since the Sugarhill Gang but more contemporary examples are cats like Tone Loc, Young MC, Hammer, Coolio and Puff Daddy.
